A window view of Woodbine
Woodbine, Georgia is blessed with the southern, small-town charm of the South. The town itself is located in Camden County and is only minutes away from Kingsland, Georgia. As you drive into town, be taken Window view of Woodbineback to yesteryear. You will find places like the Woodbine International Fire Museum that boasts mid-18th century to present fire memorabilia. The rare tools, fire insurance marks, uniforms and equipment from American and European fire departments dating back to the 1800s. The private non-profit museum also features firefighting memorabilia including antique photographs, documents and prints plus more than 3,000 uniform patches and badges. The Woodbine museum is among six in Georgia. It is the only one in South Georgia. How 'bout some antique shopping? Try stopping in at the place 'that sells dead people's things'. Out-of-towners are tickled by bargains from Woodbine's deceased citizenry.
 
Wind down the Woodbine Riverwalk that meanders along riverside. The 2.5 mile scenic river walk offers breathtaking views of the pristine Satilla River, as well as, creeks and a southern variety of flowering plants and tall shade trees. Stop at the many benches that line the walk to really take in the views. While strolling along the walk, try Bird Watching. How many different species of birds can you find? This river walk is the home of the Woodbine Bird Sanctuary. Here you will find it is home to many different birds seasonally; in addition you will find numerous bluebird houses that have been placed along the river walk to encourage nesting.
 
After grabbing a bite to eat at one of the local eateries, head on over to the Woodbine Opry! If you enjoy old-fashioned great old-timey music, then you're going to LOVE the Woodbine Opry. It's a friendly get-together, and you'll only be a stranger once. Friday night at the Woodbine Opry is bluegrass, gospel and some traditional country songs thrown in for good measure. Saturday night at the Opry is country, with favorites and old standards. Enjoy the pedal steel guitar with electric guitar leads and drums to keep the rhythm. Just makes you want to dance! There isn't a fee to enjoy the fun, but donations are gladly accepted. Try your luck with the raffles and maybe even win a home-made dessert!
 
A quick drive back to Kingsland and you will find many hotels to suit your taste!

There's fun all around this time of year from the local Festivals to great food and entertainment.
Kingsland Catfish Festival

Nothing goes better with crispy, southern-fried catfish than a succulent serving of music. Festival goers can feast on this and much more during Kingsland, Georgia's Annual Labor Day Weekend Catfish Festival which runs from Saturday through Monday each Labor Day weekend in September.

 

During the three days of Labor Day weekend, people will flood the streets of downtown Kingsland, Georgia to browse over hundreds of arts and crafts/antiques and collectible exhibits, sample the foods of nearly 30 different food vendors, and, of course, sit down to enjoy farm-raised southern-fried Catfish, hushpuppies, grits, coleslaw and

 sweetened ice tea.

 

Today, this 3-day event is the largest festival in Camden County and attracts a crowd of over 45,000 people throughout the weekend. The fun-filled festival is kicked-off on Saturday morning and the excitement continues through Monday night in the historic district of downtown Kingsland, Georgia. Scheduled events include a parade, arts & crafts booths, southern-fried catfish, a variety of food booths, antiques and collectibles, free concerts, a children's amusement area, a 5K run, a classic car & tractor exhibition, and the Lion Club's annual Pancake Breakfast.

 

This festival proves to be a wonderful three-day weekend for the entire family. There has never been an admission fee & parking has always been free, so come and enjoy a fun-filled weekend in Kingsland, Georgia! Excerpts from the Lovetown USA show were featured in on the OWN network: Oprah Builds a Network (Part 1) which premiered on Sunday, July 8, 2012. The show is described as: Oprah discusses the first year of her network lauch, the reason why she decided to make herself CEO and her personal feelings about the much-publicized Nielsen misstep. Cameras follow Oprah as she shoots comedy skits for the Jimmy Kimmel Oscar special and travel to Georgia for production on a new OWN series. This will be re-airing at the following times on the OWN network.

The Official Destination Marketing Organization for the Kingsland Georgia Area
 
 
The Kingsland Convention & Visitors Bureau is a non-profit Destination Marketing Organization (DMO).  Funded through a portion of local occupancy taxes collected from visitors staying overnight in Kingsland lodging, the KCVB mission is to develop, coordinate and promote tourism for the Kingsland Georgia area.  The main objective of the department is to increase and sustain hotel room night occupancy and visitor expenditures in the City of Kingsland.  The KCVB also oversees the operation and maintenance of the Kingsland I-95 Welcome Center to encourage visitor spending thereby, enhancing and strengthening the community's economic climate and improving the quality of life for area residents and visitors.

The Kingsland Welcome Center is located off Interstate 95 at Exit 3. We'll direct you to areas where you can kayak or canoe through dense, misty marshlands, to emerald-green golf courses that will challenge and excite you, or to the best fishing or bird-watching areas. Or, you can simply pick up information about area attractions, events, hotels, and restaurants to explore on your own.
