LSNA Immigration March...

March with immigrants in Logan Square on Thursday, July 16 from 10am - 11:30am.  A large group will be marching from the Logan Square Neighborhood Association to the Blue Line stop by the eagle. The group will be meeting in front of LSNA (2840 N Milawukee Ave.) at 10am.

Expect press, politicians, poets, speakers and a special performance by indigenous dancers afterwards. Please join LSNA as they demonstrate as a people united for social justice, ready to build power through non-partisan electoral work.

St. Luke's is one of approximately 50 Logan Square member organizations that, together, make up the Logan Square Neighborhood Association.  For more information on LSNA, speak with Rachel Bickel -- our new representative to the LSNA Member Action Committee.

St. Luke's Town Hall Meeting and Ice Cream Social...
Please plan to stay after worship on Sunday, August 5 for a town hall meeting and ice cream social. Hear about proposed change to church governance; get updates on the first half of the year; then share what you love (and don't love) about St. Luke's so we can work together to shape our community, both now and in the future. The social will last about forty-five minutes. Council members: please bring an ice cream topping to share.

The Gifts We Bring

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good."

- 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

Your commitments of time and talent form the basis of the ministry we do as St. Luke's. At this time of year, we start the process of assessing what we, as a community, have to work with, and what work we can hope to carry out in the year ahead -- in our shared spiritual life, in mission & outreach, and in all the other parts of the life of St. Luke's.

Please take a few minutes to thoughtfully complete the form called "The Gifts We Bring," which will be included with your bulletin for the next three weeks in worship and can be accessed online via the link below.

In the days and weeks ahead, congregational leadership will be using this information to assure that everyone is fully involved in the aspects of congregational life that matter most to them, and that this community's plan for the year ahead gives fullest possible expression to the great gifts that we all bring.

This process of stewardship planning will continue in the months ahead, culminating with the presentation of a plan and budget for 2013 to the congregation in late fall, and an end-of-year financial stewardship campaign. To learn more, speak to any member of church council!
