Mevarchim Iyar
April 13-14, 2018
Shalom and hello everyone!
I hope you are doing well.

This shabbos is mevorchim chodesh Iyar so come early to shul and help daven and celebrate with us!

WELCOME BACK!

To all those who were away for the chag, welcome back home! Did you know we had members who flew all over the world for pesach, including Israel, Greece, Morocco - even New Jersey.

What can I say? At Ohav Sholom we enjoyed an amazing yom tov together with members and friends. This was one of the most attended pesachs in a long time!

The first days we enjoyed double our usual attendance and the second days were absolutely packed! Wow! We experienced a moving bircas kohanim by seven esteemed kohanim and also enjoyed delicious cakes and cookies in our newly instituted daily pesach kiddush.
KIDDUSH SPONSORS
Thank you to our generous super gala kiddush co sponsors, Renee and Sharon Ripinsky in honor of their dear father's yahrtzeit, Mordechai Ben Jacob, z"l, and to Elliot and Deborah Gibber for sponsoring in honor of Elliot's dear Mother, Rachel bas Dovid Binyomin, a"h.

May both neshamos enjoy a big aliyah in Gan Eden! Amen.
KADDISH ANYONE?
I am saying kaddish for Danny during the shloshim and looking for volunteers to help with the entire year.

Already two members offered to do this chesed shel emmes but we need more! Please see me in shul or email me directly.

Here's an idea. Thinking of ways to perpetuate the memory of our beloved Gabbai Danny Lieberman ? Danny loved to daven and especially loved to daven shachris in his tefillin.

Many people daven at home or just don't have the time.

Won't you follow in his footsteps and take the pledge to come to Danny's Ohav Sholom (in his honor and memory) and be part of our strong daily minyan? If you do, the merit generated for Danny's neshama will be far greater than any donation you will ever make in his name. I guarantee that.

Don't think about it. Just do it.
GOT INSOMNIA? GRAB A COOKIE
This is nuts! I am glad to share the good news that Insomnia Cookies on Amsterdam and 79th street (for now, only this location) is now kosher under my supervision!

Now you can grab a delicious slice at Sabas Pizza and wash it down with cookies (and ice cream) and milk! Until 3am... and they deliver!

Once we're on the subject, check out the new five star caterer under my hechsher, Drake and Wolf . I tasted their food on pesach... it was incredible.

Enjoy exquisite food for shabbos or any celebratory event prepared by chef Aviva Wolf prepared in her brand new commissary in the city - and delivered right to your door. Visit them online at drakeandwolf.com.
DAF YOMI NEW SEDER:
YOU CAN DO IT!

Mazel tov to all who will finish mesechta Horios this coming shabbos. What an achievement!

Did you know that this concludes "seder nezikin" and we launch "seder kodshim" with mesechta zevachim this coming Sunday, April 15th?!

You can join our reinvigorated DAILY daf yomi shiur! This is YOUR moment to become a Talmudic scholar and learn Torah like never before in your life. There are NO excuses - I'm sick of listening to them!

When will you ever study zevachim?! A Jew has to know the entire Torah without any exception. Period.

Don't let this opportunity slide by. We will start this Sunday, April 15th, exactly one half hour before shachris , at 8:00am and everyday a half hour before shachris.

NEW - DAF YOMI - DAILY - SCHEDULE
Sunday: 8:00am
Monday, Thursday: 6:40am
