PARSHAS PARAH THIS SHABBOS
This shabbos we read from two sefer Torah scrolls.
The first is parsha hashavua and the second is “parah adumah”, discussing the requirement of the red heifer. In Temple times and before pesach, ritually impure Jews were sprinkled with the specially prepared ash compound so that they may offer the korban pesach, paschal lamb.
According to some poskim, parshas parah is m’dioraisah, biblical in its obligation. Although we paskin that only parshas zachor is biblical, nonetheless, we exercise certain stringencies with parah as well.
Join us for this special Torah reading which will commence approximately 10:30am. All men, women and children are encouraged to attend this special reading.
