Nowruz is a few Short Months Away!
Dear Friends,
Child Foundation's new annual report is printed and will be mailed to all of our donors in the United States along with their 2016 tax statement. If you do not receive it by the end of the first week of February please do not hesitate to contact our offices. You may also see the web version of the annual report here.
As we are getting closer to Nowruz festivities, when we traditionally collect more donations for children in need, we cannot hide our deep concern about the new political environment. We are closely watching the new US administration's actions on local and international scale to ensure that our humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan and Iran continue. The visa cancellation of citizens from countries we work does not look promising.
This is why we are at's why we are outreaching to all charities and nonprofits that work in those countries to see how we can work collectively to safeguard bringing hope to children.
An old African proverb says when elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. I am worried however that in this world of fighting among politicians it is the little children who will suffer.
We should all work together to prevent it. In this time of uncertainty and unrest around the globe, if you are interested in participating in advocacy, just send us a note and ways of collaboration with us through any contacts and resources that you would like to share.
With that said, we continue to focus on our Nowruz festivities. This year we not only plan our traditional fundraising to purchase new shoes and clothes for our children, but we have also set a goal of finding sponsors for at least 100 hard
working students who currently have no support.
We are working on translations of all the children's' files to mail them to our donors; you may also access some of the files from here.
You can also send eidi to the child you support or any other child
here.
Once again, thank you for making this Nowruz a joyous holiday for children in need through purchasing the gift of hope for them.
