About globalFEST

The annual globalFEST is something like a whirlwind tour captained by a cosmopolitan disc jockey.
NY Times

10th anniversary! Sunday January 13, 2013

Founded in 2003, globalFEST (gF) is a leading catalyst for cultural exchange in the United States. The organization has grown in the last ten years from a singular annual event into a year-round resource for curators, global music artists, and the live music industry as a whole. gF supports world music and the field through activities that bring emerging artists to the forefront, encourage presenters and curators to book US and international-based world music artists, and ensure that the general public is provided with the opportunity to sample and enjoy a variety of excellent live music from around the world. The gF Touring Fund (gFTF) founded in 2011, enables alumni artists to apply for funding to reach new markets in the US.

In 2010, globalFEST incorporated into its own non-profit organization and in 2012 it received 501c3 status.  gF is presented in association with Live Sounds, Joe's Pub at the Public Theater, Acidophilus: Live & Active Cultures and The Bowery Presents. Support provided by The Ford Foundation, The Cultural Services of the French Embassy with additional support from the French Music Export Office in NY and our supporters through the gF Kickstarter campaigns.
