What the press says:

globalFEST is something like a whirlwind tour captained by a cosmopolitan disc jockey, hopping from Guadeloupe to Transylvania, Senegal to the Louisiana bayou, Paris to Siberia.

- NY Times

Last year, I was a kid in a candy store; this year, we're all in for a treat, so spread the word.

- NPR's All Songs Considered

Some of the bands could have melted the ice on the nearby streets.

About globalFEST

In 2003 representatives of three of the US's most vital arts organizations joined together to create globalFEST, a groundbreaking 1-night, 3-stage, 12-band world music festival, which concert goers pay one price to see.  The showcase festival seeks to move international music to the center of the performing arts field  by coinciding with the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) conference.

Over 8 festivals, globalFEST has become one of the US's most highly anticipated and diverse cultural events and an essential catalyst for the world music field in North America. In 2010, globalFEST incorporated into its own non-profit organization.

Isaac Guzman wrote in The Daily News, "Aside from the high quality of the artists, what's striking about globalFEST is that it does away with typical notions of what constitutes world music."

Festival directors are Bill Bragin of  Acidophilus: Live & Active Cultures, Isabel Soffer of Live Sounds and Shanta Thake of Joe's Pub at The Public Theater.
