We have quite a special community at MoveStudio. We watch how people grow, explore and expand during their time with us. This past week, Nicole N. shared some touching words about her experience in Prenatal Yoga & "Mommy & Me" Postnatal Yoga with Mimi Mears at MoveStudio:
"Today Liam and I "graduated" out of mommy and me yoga. Mireille Mears (MiMi) was my prenatal yoga instructor starting at 13 weeks pregnant. She (along with a few other wonderful women) helped teach me how amazing the body is and empowered me, through exercise and mental support to work towards the natural and unmedicated birth that I wanted. 

After I had Liam, she came to my house to teach me baby massage so that I could help Liam adjust to life out of the womb and get his bodily systems working well! 

Then we started mommy and me yoga with her!! For the past 5 months Liam and I have been going once a week and using that time to bond, play, sing songs, and get a little exercise! 

Mimi is such a treasure! She is so caring and inspiring! My pregnancy, birth, and post-partum would have been so different without her!! This is definitely not goodbye... but just an extra special thank you for shaping my and Liam's life the way you have!!! We love you Mimi!!"

Thank you to all the mothers and expecting mothers that share the journey of pregnancy and parenthood with us.  Throughout the years MoveStudio and Mimi Mears   have become one of the most well known facilities and instructor for prenatal and postnatal classes. YOGA BASICS

Our yoga basics series teach the fundamentals of Hatha Yoga. Classes are small, so individual attention is guaranteed. Students have the opportunity to ask questions, get individual feedback and learn modifications for specific needs. You'll learn the asanas (yoga poses) in a methodical, progressive manner, giving you a firm foundation for a lasting yoga practice.

Basics I is designed for new beginners with little or no yoga experience. It will help prepare you for beginning drop-in classes and a personal yoga practice.
 
AIKIDO BASICS FOR WOMEN
with Lynn Fabia
6 Mondays, 7:30-8:30p, 10/17-11/21

Aikido is the art of effective redirection of energy, the same as life. This belief system that is a martial art of self-defense is also a way to deal with energy, focus and aggression.
"You cannot resist energy. You either redirect it or it knocks you down."

Light clothing suitable for movement. This is a hands-on workshop.

Join us to investigate the roots of strength and core ability. Re-discover skeletal support, your connection with the ground and how your breath can support movement.

The Feldenkrais Method offers a unique, profound way to examine and change your habitual and often limiting ways of moving. 
 
  
 
YOGA ON THE WALL
with Tifany Henderson
Saturday, 10/22, 2:30-4:30p

Hips, calves and shoulders, oh my!


We will being using the wall as our prop to release our hips from a reclined position, our calves and shoulders from a standing position. When we recline on the floor with our legs up the wall, we can stretch hamstrings and hips for a gentle release.
 

For our neck and shoulders, we will be using the wall to stretch the arms, neck and shoulders, even the pectorals-the front part of the chest. Freeing up our neck from any kinks we may have. We will then round all of this out with a tennis ball massage against the wall to get the entire back - from tush to shoulders.
