Oakwood Creates an Interactive Digital Campus Tour
For a high school student, going on a college tour is an important step and a time-honored tradition in the process of selecting a university to attend.
Whether it's through attending Oakwood Live!, traveling with a school group, or scheduling an individual tour with the Enrollment Management Department, a countless number of students have made the trek to Huntsville, Alabama, to get an up-close-and-personal look at Oakwood University.
Quite a few prospective students come in with a pre-conceived notion of what to expect from Oakwood, only to have those notions obliterated and are blown away by what they find.
For those who are unable to make the trip, important questions may remain. It is for those students we wanted to bring key elements of the famed "Oakwood Experience" right to their computers, mobile phones, or virtual reality headsets. We invite you to #ExperienceOakwood by visiting www.oakwood.edu/tour. For mobile devices and those with virtual reality headsets, download the "Oakwood - Experience in VR" app in the App Store or on Google Play.

Oakwood's Aeolians are Headed Across the Pond
The first International Musical Eisteddfod was held in Llangollen in June 1947, the same year that Dr. Eva B. Dykes organized the first group Aeolians at Oakwood College.
In the following 70 years, the International Musical Eisteddfod and its celebration of "Peace and Harmony" has made it one of the world's great music festivals, which be
gan with a vision that the ancient Welsh eisteddfod tradition could provide a means of healing the wounds of the Second World War, and help to promote lasting peace.
The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod is not merely an annual festival promoted by one nation for international audiences, but a festival of music-making in which representatives of the peoples of other nations can take an active part.
The competition will take place at Llangollen, a picturesque North Wales town, within five hours' train journey from London.
The winning choirs will become the custodians of a notable award, symbolic of international unity through the arts.
The Aeolians, under the direction of Dr. Jason Max Ferdinand, will be competing in this international music competition, July 3-9, 2017. Contributions to this trip can be made online, at www.ougiving.com. Click GIVE, and indicate that your gift is for the Aeolians.
While on the British Isles, the Aeolians will also be performing at other venues in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
