Good Morning:
All of us at Millner Heritage Winery would like to wish all of you a very happy Thanks Giving and we hope to see you again very soon.

Getting older now, but not so much feeling it, this week I had a realization of our times. Mary was on the phone scheduling a doctor appointment and I realized that I am on Life Support.  What the heck that's only for people almost dead. With the increase in computer generated health clinic reminders, I am due for three appointments and I think I am actually a very healthy guy.
First came the notice for appointment from the eye specialist, I have the genetics and a few more factor making me prone to Macular Degeneration.  Now a-days with this they can actually treat the condition found early, even injecting medicines into the eyes. More info. click here

Second came the notice for appointment from the Nephrologist, the kidney doctor, the word derived from the Greek word for kidney.  Since damage to my kidneys three years ago, due to a prostate problem, I need to keep monitoring to preserve the function I have and I will be OK.  Nevertheless, getting older it is always good to be able to pee.

Lastly came the General Physical appointment.  This is probably good also, without this appointment I don't get renewal for my med list. Last spring the general doctor treated me for pneumonia and I am now good.  I must take about 9 pills per day for BP, eyes, cholesterol, and osteo-arthritis and I still claim to be healthy.  My final thought was, what did people do 200 years ago?  The answer is they died earlier very often, therefore I am on life support.  You too?  It's OK.

We had a visitor arrive last night announcing she packed lots of cloths and says she is staying until Friday.  It is our 7 yr. old granddaughter little Iza.  Jon and Anna went to a movie and Iza is with us.  Last night we played cards, I even had to cheat so she could win.  After cards we made some popcorn, her first time seeing how an air popper works, she thought it very cool.  After that she fell asleep on a sleeping bag on the floor next to the Christmas tree, so I just dragged the bag to the bedroom.
She wants to do some outside play today.  I have an extra set of cross-county skis just her length. I also thought about showing her my wind surfing ice and snowboard.  This would be really new for her, but might be too slow of a setup.  From when Iza was an infant, Anna was very diligent to take her outside every day year-round.  I think enjoying to play outside in the snow is a good healthy thing.

Yesterday Jon and I did the first delivery of wine for the Holidazzle Market, it starts this Friday.  We hauled down 500 gallon, about two tons of wine, using our truck and skid loader trailer.

Part of our agreement on this is that the buyer furnished help with unloading the five gallon containers.  Did we have help, probably eight people, about 4 or 5 of them Germans flown in for working this event.  They were a little surprised when Jon and I switched from English to German. The load hauled very good, Jon and I came home both happy.

Last weekend we poured a fair amount of the Minnesota Crisp Apple Cider and the reviews have been very good.  Release pricing of $3/glass, normal price at $5/glass, maybe Black Friday will be your chance to stop and try.
