As an extension of her recent Windows series, Marilyn Henrion has created a new group of mixed media works entitled Portals. The inspiration for this series is the natural world. Through the portal of the artist's eye, the viewer is invited to look outward, focusing on the beauty of nature that sometimes eludes us in our busy lives. The works, which float on painted wood panels,  are created with digitally manipulated photography, pigment printing on silk, hand quilting, and stretched canvas. So far, ten Portals have been added to the website, but this will be an on-going series, with new works to be added as they are completed.
