LOA Receives Kiwanis Grant
LOA's CEO, Ron Boyd, accepted a grant check from the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke President, Don Witt, last month. The grant award is for $8,000 and will help the Meals on Wheels program. We are also grateful for all the Kiwanis members that deliver Meals on Wheels each week.

LOA Receives Grant
The LOA was the lucky recipient of a Food Lions Feeds Charitable Foundation grant of $1800 for Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels provides a home delivered meal to homebound seniors 60 and older in order to help them remain in their own homes for as long as possible. Last year 848 seniors were served 129,740 meals through the program. The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding the hungry in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $10 million in grants.

ECU college students spent their spring break in Roanoke to help and learn about LOA and other non-profits through the Alternative Spring Break (VFC) program sponsored by SERCAP. Their activities included helping out at our Morningside Diner's Club and making St. Patrick's day cards for Meals on Wheels recipients.
