S.O.U.L. Leaders

How do you learn to be a leader - books, seminars, classes?

At YMCA Camp Weona we develop leadership by giving you the chance to do it! You will learn from accomplishments and mistakes in a safe and supportive environment with staff that can mentor you every step of the way.

Join our S.O.U.L leaders and set goals, plan and be a part of a team that values honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility (the cornerstones of leadership). The focus on leadership is enhanced by working together as small group at camp, and where lessons transfer to your life when you participate in groups at school, in sports and beyond.

At YMCA Camp Weona, we give you the tools and opportunities to apply skills as a leader. Develop your leadership potential while doing things that will give you the most fun and memorable summer ever!  For more information visit our website!

163rd YMCA
Annual Meeting

Last month YMCA Buffalo Niagara honored its valued supporters and volunteers at the 163rd Annual Meeting.  The event took place at the Statler and was attended by over 300 guests.

That evening the Seymour H. Knox, III Youth of the Year Award was presented to eight extraordinary young adults, each representing their YMCA Branch.

Also being honored were eight outstanding Branch Volunteers of the Year who truly play a vital role in helping the YMCA carry out our mission.

Tapestry Charter School was the recipient of the 2015 Stewart Partnership Award being recognized for going above and beyond in their support of YMCA Buffalo Niagara.

The 2015 Gold Key Award, the most distinguished volunteer award presented by the YMCA, was bestowed upon Marshall Young, for his outstanding years of service to YMCA Buffalo Niagara.  The award recipient's name is kept secret until the moment of the presentation and Marshall was truly surprised to hear his name called.

We'd like to congratulate all of the award recipients and thank them for their dedication to the YMCA.

(Additional photos from the event can be seen on YMCA Buffalo Niagara's Facebook page.)
