On April 10th, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) finalized a decision that will allow time for an independent panel, comprised of stakeholders and rights holders, to provide advice on species at risk in forest management and to assist MNRF in achieving a “better understanding of the impacts of climate change, the cumulative effects of all activity on a broad, dynamic landscape and a much better appreciation for the socio-economic implications.” Read more on our website.
Business Confidence Top Priority This Week
Your advocacy team is gearing up for a busy week discussing Ontario policy as it relates to the interests of our Members.

Tomorrow, April 17, Ontario Chamber President Rocco Rossi will be joining Thunder Bay Chamber President Charla Robinson for an important Leaders Luncheon to discuss Ontario’s economic situation and referring to the recently-released Ontario Economic Report (OER) as we discuss the way recent policy changes have affected business confidence in the province.  For more information and to register for the Luncheon, click here.

Immediately following the Luncheon we’ll be hosting a Member Round-Table with Mr. Rossi to discuss the local impacts of the recent employment policy changes along with other key issues covered in the OER.  To participate in this Round Table, please contact Charla at  [email protected]  or (807) 624-2626.

On Wednesday, be sure to tune in to Country FM’s morning show when Charla will join John Ongaro on-air to talk about Bill 148, the Ontario budget and the Chamber’s thoughts on the upcoming election.
