โœจ Summer 2025 at CISGG AAMI Summer Camp was unforgettable!

Students stayed active with GaGa Ball, enjoyed games like Dominoes and Old Maid, and had fun trips to Triad Lanes. Mentors were there every step of the way, supporting, encouraging, and cheering on their mentees.๏ปฟ๏ปฟ

The camp continues to be a beacon of opportunity for young black, Hispanic and other male students who participate in the year-round program at Peck Elementary, Jackson Middle, and Smith High School.๏ปฟ

๐Ÿ‘‹ Special thanks to our staff, supporters, board members, and the United Way who make this impactful work possible.

โœจ Student Spotlight: Jordan Mayo!

Jordan Mayo! Thanks to the support of a caring adult through CISGG. With guidance and encouragement, Jordan has grown more confident, stayed engaged in school, and begun exploring new opportunities for his future. His story shows the power of mentorship and community support in helping students succeed.

We are honored to highlight Jordan Mayo, a bright and determined student embodies what resilience looks like.

Jordan started the school year facing challenges that affected his confidence and ability to stay focused in class. Through CISGG, Jordan was connected with a caring adult who provided not only academic support but also consistent encouragement and guidance. With someone in his corner, Jordan made steady progress โ€” improving his class participation, staying more engaged in his coursework, and developing stronger communication.

Perhaps most inspiring is Jordanโ€™s growing belief in himself. He has begun exploring new interests both in and outside the classroom. His confidence continues to grow with every milestone. Jordanโ€™s story is a testament to what happens when students feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach for their goals.

We celebrate Jordanโ€™s hard work and look forward to supporting him through his journey and beyond!

โœจ Student Spotlight: Taleia Frederick!

Because of donors like you, students facing change and uncertainty donโ€™t have to navigate it alone. When Taleia Frederick transferred to a new high school, CISGG was thereโ€”providing guidance, opportunity, and a safe space to grow.

When Taleia Frederick transferred to a new high school, she didnโ€™t wait for opportunityโ€”she went looking for it. Determined to stay connected and informed, Taleia introduced herself to CISGG Site Coordinator Mrs. Cheryl Donahue-Wright, opening the door to life-changing resources, mentorship, and academic opportunities.

Through CISGG, Taleia was connected to the TRIO Upward Bound program, gained hands-on exposure to college campuses, and deepened her passion for engineering. From being the only girl in her robotics program to aspiring toward a future in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Taleiaโ€™s journey is a powerful example of resilience, leadership, and focus.

With consistent support, a safe space to grow, and a community that believes in her, Taleia is confidently charting her path forward. Her story reminds us that when students are surrounded by support, their dreams are within reach.

Looking Ahead to the Second Semester

As we prepare for the new semester, the need for CISGGโ€™s presence in schools remains strong. Many students continue to face obstacles that can easily derail their education โ€” but with your help, we can continue providing the relationships and resources that make lasting change possible.

Your continued support ensures that:

  • A student has a warm coat on a cold morning
  • A family receives critical resources during difficult times
  • A child gains confidence through mentorship and tutoring
  • A struggling student stays on track for graduation
  • A young person discovers new passions, pathways, and opportunities

Together, we can make the next semester even stronger than the first.
