Recently, the top Republican negotiator in a potential infrastructure deal, U.S. Senator from West Virginia Shelley Moore Capito, signaled positive conversations with the administration on efforts to reach a bipartisan deal that would avoid a partisan, reconciliation package pushed through Congress by Democrats.
ABC Empire State Chapter Forces Changes to Hero Act

ABC’s Empire State Chapter was one of the few groups asked by Governor Cuomo to make significant changes to the bill in an effort to soften the blow for employers. Thanks to these efforts, we were able to secure a number of changes to the legislation that benefit our members.

National Law Review: Employer Considerations in Light of Updated CDC Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People
What to Know

On Thursday, May 13, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) delivered welcome news for vaccinated individuals in the form of revised Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People. The new guidance provides: “Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.” In general, an individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose in the case of a two-dose series vaccine or two weeks after a the first dose in a single-dose vaccine.
