Did you know on October 22, 1982, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed October as Head Start Awareness Month? We are celebrating two milestones, Head Start is in its 55th year and Early Head Start is celebrating its 25th year.  Let's join together in Illinois and bring awareness to Head Start/Early Head Start and celebrate our birthday. It’s fun, positive and is core to our advocacy work! Let’s make sure October is our month to shine!

This Week We Are CELEBRATING Head Start CHILDREN! Week of October 26th (all week) we are going to celebrate children. This week of celebration is all about children, children in classrooms, children learning remotely, children on the playground, children on buses, etc.

SO...THIS WEEK.... HERE'S WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO!

1.  Take pictures of children’s artwork. We plan to sponsor a virtual art gallery of children’s artwork from across the state.”

2. Have children finish this sentence "I like my HS/EHS teacher because . . . . ” and send us the response. email to: miocca@ilheadstart.org
