Tell your Phoenix Councilmembers NO to the DOJ Consent Decree!

The City of Phoenix is close to receiving a Consent Decree from the crooked DOJ.

There are PROVEN strategies the community can use to STOP it!

The DOJ has wide latitude on who and how it engages in this process and what evidence it uses in its investigation. They aren't even required to "prove" the findings.

The targeted police department can defend itself against the DOJ or agree to them and spend years and millions of dollars $$$$$ satisfying the terms.

Additionally, a critically understaffed department will experience another mass police exodus.

We MUST apply enough public pressure on Phoenix City Council to SAY NO!

We MUST apply public pressure on State legislators and lobbyists to insist the council SAY NO!

We MUST Back The Blue and insist police leadership fight against the consent decree.

Regardless of what city you live in, Phoenix needs to hear from YOU!

  • Albuquerque signed a settlement agreement in 2014 after a federal investigation that followed several officer-involved shootings. But today, many elected officials and Albuquerque residents are critical of what they see as a lack of progress, as well as the cost.
  • Republican U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell in February urged Garland to end the consent decree, noting that the city has spent nearly $25 million on it, including $10 million in monitor payments, and it hasnโ€™t resulted in less crime: Albuquerque saw a record number of homicides in 2021.
  • โ€œThis consent decree has been in place for over seven years, cost millions of dollars, and failed to make our stateโ€™s largest city safer or improve officer retention,โ€ Herrell wrote.

  • New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell on Thursday called for an end to a decade of federal oversight of the city's police, saying officers are in "handcuffs" and leaving the force.
  • โ€œThe consent decree handcuffs our officers by making their jobs harder, pestering them with punitive punishment and burying them with paperwork that is an overburden,โ€ Cantrell told reporters alongside Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson.
