Happy Gut, Happy Life!
Most of us can at some point relate to feeling winter or holiday stomach overwhelm. Whether from eating too much, eating things we don’t usually eat, or generally rolling off of our “normal” food regimen; gastrointestinal (GI) overwhelm can have real impact on our health and well-being.
It is also something we can prevent and rectify.
Evidence shows the relationship between our gut and our whole health is inextricably entwined with our mental, physical and emotional health; affirming what we already feel in our body when our GI has been overwhelmed.
Some common effects of the (delicious) high fat, salt and sugar overwhelm being: difficulty digesting, disrupted bowel schedule, gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, fatigue, brain fog, mood changes, sleep issues, and increased gut inflammation.
Ultimately when our gut microbiome is overloaded, it forces both our gut and brain to work harder.
But, it doesn’t have to be insufferable.
So what can we do?
Above are plenty of reasons to attempt moderation, yet when that is challenging - as it shamelessly may be! - we may consider enlisting some digestive support aids (below) to help us have an easier time over the winter and holiday season.
We can still have enormous fun indulging in our favorite foods and prevent unwieldy GI upset and other issues.
Cheers to much enjoyment of these celebratory winter days and a happy gut to all!
