Held on May 30, 2025, the 19th Annual Bernard & Betty Egan Memorial Golf Classic at the Indian River Club was a huge success. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the operating expenses of the Samaritan Center in Vero Beach.
We are very thankful to over 75 sponsors to include Holy Cross Catholic Church, Community Church of Vero Beach, Publix Supermarket Charities, Schlitt Services, Merrill Lynch Morgan Petersen Wealth Management and George E. Warren. Especially, our ACE Sponsor, the Bernard A. Egan Foundation, who generously matched all sponsorships dollar to dollar. 28 teams totaling 110 golfers enjoyed a gorgeous day of golfing, lunch and an Awards Ceremony. Special thanks to our door and grand prize donor, golf course certificate donors and over 32+ fabulous, dedicated volunteers.
Catholic Charities would like to extend their extreme gratitude to the Samaritan Center's Advisory Committee who worked tirelessly in organizing this event.
Bernard Egan and his wife Betty were two of the founding members of the Samaritan Center who realized the need to help homeless families in Indian River County. The Samaritan Center is a comprehensive, multi-level, homeless program for families in Indian River County. To date the Samaritan Center has provided shelter for over 2, 087 residents including over 1, 176 children. The Samaritan Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and private donations, grants and fundraising efforts account for more than 75% of the funding of Samaritan Center.
