Cold Steering Wheel?

These fingerless mitts might be just the answer!

We used Edition 3, a gorgeously marled and super soft yarn, to knit up another pair of the fingerless mitts that we showed in last week's email. Edition 3 is 100% merino wool and (drumroll!) its a super wash yarn.

Edition 3 is machine washable, comes in 25 colors, and is perfect for garments and accessories that need to be next-to-skin soft, like cowls and baby sweaters and mittens and scarves.

Order two balls to be sure you have enough to knit these mitts.

Striped Helical Beanie Hat Pattern

Here's a beanie knit using greens that are really close colors. This hat was knit for a skiing kid and fits snug inside a ski helmet.

We took a sock weight yarn, that yellow green,

held two strand together,

and knit it as the main color.

The solid green was the contrast yarn.

Our Graywood Designs pattern provides a full page of step-by-step directions and photos for learning helical knitting.

We like the center star that forms when finishing this hat. Notice that this knitter kept the both helical colors going right into the decreasing. Pretty clever!

In the pattern, the contrast color is dropped and the crown shaping uses the main color only.

Knitting is so versatile! Do it either way!
