JOURNEY BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION 🌈

Iceland is considered one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly countries in the world. This road is a popular tourist destination in the City of Reykjavik. Gay couples have been able to adopt children since 2006 and Iceland has even passed legislation to formalize the process for trans and genderqueer people to change their names and identities.

During this visit, I learned how to embody the brutal strength of a Viking Warrior. Several spas throughout the island feature the "Viking Massage", a treatment that involves jumping in an ice bath before the massage begins.

I'd like to share the story of my bright and beautiful friend. Andrew and I met in Delaware working at the local T.G.I. Fridays in 2005. We became BFF immediately, perhaps it was because we were the token gay guys but that was fine with us. Over the years, he pursued a passion for the culinary arts and even shared some of his secret recipes with me. He was a kindhearted person with a heart of gold.

Sadly, Andrew struggled with mental health issues and was ultimately diagnoed with schizophrenia. Although we tried to find help the resources in the community were limited. His condition proved to be overwhelming. In 2017, I decided to relocate to Florida and failed to find a way to keep our connection alive.

Last year I received the news that Andrew had passed away after living a very hard to say the least. He was only 35 years old. This month, I will be 35 and can see the world from such a different perspective. It's true that grief is a process that changes us. How? well, I think that's up to us to decide each and every day.

PRIDE Month is important to me because I honor the memory of Andrew. When we go support local events such as PRIDE parades and fundraisers, we are helping bring an end to the lack of resources in our community. So get out there and let's us be the change we wish to see in the world.

Now you can rally behind a cause in style. PRIDESANOS means people who shared a common place of origin. We were inspired to design a symbol to connect us all.

The idea was to create a visual representation of the fusion of power of friendship together with unconditional love. We came up with the lion, who represents courage while its mane was inspired by the transformative power of a lotus flower.

June 17th marks another year for Venus Williams, a powerful goddess, and the younger sister to Serena Williams. Venus is an extraordinary tennis player and beautiful woman. I wish to one day give Venus a taste of my deep tissue massage.
