Dear Aiken Democrats,
As we close out 2025, I want to pause and reflect on what we accomplished together—and to thank you for the commitment, persistence, and heart you brought to this work.
This year was one of rebuilding, organizing, and momentum. Despite challenges at every level of government, the Aiken County Democratic Party showed what it means to stay rooted in the community and focused on impact.
Because of your work in 2025, we achieved real wins:
-
We elected Dennis Briatico to the North Augusta City Council, strengthening Democratic leadership and representation in the city.
-
We elected Braylen Waldo to the Aiken City Council, bringing new leadership and fresh energy to local government.
-
We proudly reelected Councilwoman Lessie Price to the Aiken City Council, reaffirming the trust placed in her continued service.
-
We reelected Councilwoman Geneva Jackson to her seat in New Ellenton, ensuring experienced leadership and continuity for that community.
Beyond the ballot box, we expanded how we engage people in civic life:
-
We partnered with community organizations and coalitions, including 50501 and No Kings Events, to support nonpartisan protest activations and civic engagement, creating space for residents to raise their voices, connect with one another, and re-engage with the democratic process.
- These partnerships helped us reach new audiences, energize infrequent voters, and remind our community that participation doesn’t begin or end on Election Day.
These victories—electoral and organizing—did not happen by chance. They were made possible by volunteers making calls, knocking doors, showing up to actions, building coalitions, supporting candidates, and staying engaged even when the work was challenging. This is what people-powered organizing looks like.
As Chair, I am incredibly proud of how we moved through 2025—with intention, collaboration, and a shared belief that local organizing is the foundation of change. We didn’t just focus on winning elections; we focused on building relationships, trust, and long-term power.
Looking ahead to 2026, our focus is clear.
The coming year will be about midterm elections—and doing the work early and well. We will prioritize recruiting the strongest possible candidates to run and lead in our local communities. We will reorganize and strengthen our on-the-ground infrastructure, recommitting to precinct captains as the backbone of our work and ensuring they have the tools, training, and support needed to succeed. And we will create new opportunities for sustained investment in the Aiken County Democratic Party, so our work is not just effective—but durable.
The lessons of this year will guide us as we move forward—more prepared, more unified, and more determined to show up for every voter in Aiken County.
Thank you for trusting me with the responsibility of leadership. Thank you for your service to Aiken County. And thank you for believing that when we organize locally, we win collectively.
Onward—together.
In solidarity and service,
Christina Cue
