School is back in session! Roads are busier, homework and projects await, and to-do lists are perhaps a little bit longer this time around. With the hustle and bustle of this back-to-school season, tackle the new school year with these tips for health, home, and auto.
Snack Smarter
While it’s tempting to pick the usual back-to-school snacks that are easy to whip up or buy, these choices are usually packed with salt and sugar, but your next trip to the supermarket can lead to healthier choices.
Instead of cookies, candy, chocolate, or fruit snacks try frozen grapes and bananas, a fruit smoothie, or yogurt with granola. Instead of potato chips, beef jerky, or microwavable pizza rolls try popcorn, baked vegetable chips, or carrots and cucumbers with hummus.
Study Spaces
Having your home organized for efficiency and comfort (especially during this part of the school year) could help you and your family when you get home after a tiring day. Designate an area in your home to keep kids’ gear organized and tucked away to clear clutter. Dedicate a space for them to do their homework, and stock the area up with study essentials, such as pencils, pens, and markers.
Strive For Safe Drives
Be extra vigilant and aware around school zones for pedestrians and
stop for school buses when their lights flash to load and unload passengers
. Staying focused at all times and practicing extreme caution ensures the safety of everyone on the road.
We hope these tips help you and your family have a better school year. Your StayWell Familia wishes you a great school year ahead of you! And remember: school is
always
cool.
