Hipólito Acevei, Antolina González, Taguide Picanerai and Flordelina Yegros from Federación por la Autodeterminación de los Pueblos Indígenas (FAPI), Paraguay, call for the international community to recognise Indigenous Peoples as biodiversity and climate change leaders and to include them in environmental decision-making.

Last month at the World Summit of Indigenous Peoples and Nature, hosted at the IUCN World Conservation Congress, Indigenous Peoples reaffirmed their rights. Together, IUCN Indigenous Peoples Organization members presented their proposals as stewards of nature by launching their Global Indigenous Agenda for the Governance of Indigenous Lands, Territories, Waters, Coastal Seas and Natural Resources and call on the global community to take affirmative actions to support implementation.
