Notes from the editor:
🌲❄️⛄️ Are you ready?⛄️❄️🌲

My Christmas Eve began with a container of caldo gallego — a deliciously good for you soup of kale, chorizo, potatoes, turnips, white beans, onions, and lots of chicken broth — falling out of my overburdened refrigerator onto my foot. Yes, the lid flew off. Yes, I was wearing my Crocs sandals. Then, the Oooops! screen continued its greetings on my computer as I've tried since yesterday morning to send this Arts Blast card to readers. But ...

The sun is shining, a neighbor brought me raisin bread hot out of the oven, Johnny Mathis and The Carpenters are singing my favorite Christmas music in the background, a painted bunting family is having brunch on the seeds I scattered for them, and the reflections of bowls of little Christmas lights are sparkling on my screen.

This afternoon I'll visit a friend I haven't seen since before that long-ago intrusion into our lives we naively believed would be short lived, friends who've been struggling with COVID tell me they're on the mend, and I've just had a long, heartfelt email from another friend who had moved far away.

This week, with the help of a colleague at Planet Vero, I was able to produce a special holiday Arts Blast on the Air. I hope you'll have time to listen, knowing that the best Arts Blast wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season are being beamed your way.

Merry Christmas!
An extra gift to Ballet Vero Beach fans this holiday season...

A note from Live! from Vero Beach: The shows scheduled for December 30 and January 13 have been canceled.
🎨 As 2021 and the third year of Arts Blast come to a close, I hope to carve out time to get back to my own art studio. To make it work, I will be liquidating tools, supplies, and books for a variety of arts interests I've enjoyed over the years. I'm picking out a few favorites to keep but it's someone else's turn on others. A few categories: Lapidary equipment and tons of slabs and rough; lamp work; stained glass; gourds galore; metalwork; clay; enameling; wood carving; painting; tons of books and magazines. Maybe not the enameling or wood carving. Or painting. 🤔 And I'll keep a few gourds.🙄 Oh, this is tough!
Arts Blast on the Air
Have you discovered Arts Blast on the Air yet?
It isn't a spoken version of Willi Miller's Arts Blast. The weekly podcast and radio show offers interviews with people active in the arts locally, regionally, and nationally. The addition of an early-release downloadable podcast is an exciting step for Willi Miller's Arts Blast and it would not be possible without our great sponsors, Riverside Theatre and Ballet Vero Beach, collaborator Donna Roberts Mitchell, and tech guy, Jesse Kriske. Thanks for listening! CATCH THE PODCAST ONLINE. For information on advertising in Arts Blast on the Air, contact Donna.

THIS WEEK:
