Introducing the UW-Parkside Marketing Toolkit: A New Way to Share Our Story

We know that some of the most meaningful conversations about UW-Parkside happen outside of official marketing campaigns—through personal connections, community involvement, and everyday interactions. To support and amplify those organic conversations, we are unveiling the UW-Parkside Marketing Toolkit, a new toolkit designed to make it easier for faculty and staff to share the Parkside story.

This initiative is about empowering you with tools, messaging, and simple strategies to naturally highlight UW-Parkside’s strengths when the opportunity arises. Whether you're chatting with a neighbor’s high school junior, speaking at a community event, or connecting with industry partners, this effort extends the university’s larger marketing initiatives in a way that feels personal and authentic.

To kick things off, we’re hosting Lunch & Learn sessions where you can:

·     Get a first look at the Marketing Toolkit and how to use it

·     Learn easy ways to incorporate key Parkside messages into conversations

·     Discover best practices for grassroots outreach—without feeling like a salesperson

·     Connect with colleagues who are also passionate about sharing UW-Parkside’s story

Upcoming Lunch & Learn Sessions:

·   March 5 | Oak Room

·   April 2 | Oak Room

The Marketing Toolkit is designed to make sharing UW-Parkside’s story purposeful and efficient. It includes:

·     Quick-reference message points about what makes Parkside unique

·     Fact sheets, admissions business cards, postcards, and viewbooks

·     Social media graphics and digital content you can share

·     A Targeted Recruitment Worksheet

This is an easy, low-pressure way to get involved and help shape how people experience UW-Parkside. Whether you’re a natural storyteller or just want to stay informed, this initiative is about equipping you with useful tools.

If you have questions, reach out to Scott Rudie, executive director of communication and marketing at rudie@uwp.edu.

Did You Know?

   1. Students approved for exam/quiz accommodations should take the exam at the same time or at least the same day as their peers.

   2. Students must schedule exams/quizzes in Accommodate 48 hours in advance (excluding Saturday and Sunday).

   3. The testing area is never full- if a student reports they cannot schedule for the same day, they waited too long to schedule in Accommodate.

   4. Students should obtain the instructor’s permission before scheduling an alternate day or time with SAS.

   5. Instructors will get an automated email alert when a student schedules their exams/quizzes. This would be an opportune time to verify if it’s scheduled per your expectations.

   6. SAS sends an email reminder with a cover sheet two days prior to the exam date. You don’t have to wait for the reminder to send the exam.

   7. If a student misses an exam, it’s up to the instructor to determine when the student will reschedule. The instructor should email sas@uwp.edu and the student with a new day of retake.

As the semester progresses, you may notice that students may be more stressed, experiencing more academic difficulties or having non-academic challenges.
