Updated Policy 99: Recognized Name, Gender, and Pronouns
|
In Spring 2023, UW-Parkside adopted the Recognized Name, Gender, and Pronoun policy which is an update of the Preferred Name policy (policy 99). Beginning August 2023, students will be able to submit this information via their SOLAR Student Homepage. Faculty and staff will be able to submit this information via Workday beginning in Fall of 2024 (tentative). Any Faculty or Staff who wish to update their information may do so in HRS under the personal information tab. At this time, UW-Parkside has limited access to this data.
This information will be pushed to additional platforms as appropriate. Please review the website for a list of software as it becomes available. Student pronouns will be available on class rosters in SOLAR and in Canvas starting in Fall 2023.
The current policy can be found in the Employee Handbook (revised policy coming soon)- https://www.uwp.edu/explore/offices/humanresources/emphandbook.cfm
Additional information will be provided throughout the summer. A webpage has been created to keep everyone informed as we work through this implementation - https://www.uwp.edu/live/offices/studentaffairs/namegenderpronouns.cfm
UW Parkside is committed to fostering an environment of inclusiveness and supporting student and employees' preferred form of self-identification. Please reach out to Human Resources (262-595-2204 or hr@uwp.edu) with any questions and/or for help in exploring pronouns and other dynamics of gender inclusive language.

Men today have the ability to take action in living longer, healthier lives. Unfortunately, many men today are making poor choices that are leading to increased health risk factors. This class will emphasize the importance of preventive measures for men's health, the current societal barriers to men seeking health care, and provide vital resources for participants to use in creating an action plan with clear steps for success.

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside seeks to live the Wisconsin Idea as an authentic community partner and steward of place as well as an effective laboratory for its students to learn through community engagement. By signing the Campus Compact Civic Action Statement in November 2015, Chancellor Deborah Ford pledged to develop a plan that deepens and strengthens the campus commitment to community engagement and provides guidance for implementation of action steps to do so. The plan was created through the efforts of a team of faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners who collected input and feedback during 2016. This included focus groups, facilitated discussions, and surveys of students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Administrative Transformation Program (ATP) Updates
|
ATP will conduct Readiness Workshops on a variety of topics monthly, through go-live in July 2024. The Time + Absence for University & Academic Staff is now available for all UW faculty and staff to view with a UW login. Access to the presentation slides and list of Workday terms can be found here as well.
Next Month's ATP Workday Walkthrough, Learning Management, will be held on Thursday, June 8 from 3-4 p.m.
During the session we got a look at the absence calendar, which offers a new click-and-drag feature that will allow us to easily enter and monitor our own requests, as well as view planned time off for our teams. If you are University or Academic Staff who will be reporting time and time off this will be an important session for you to attend. Stay tuned for the recording.
