πŸπŸ˜‹ Mouthwatering Southern Cuisine Paying Homage to the Past

Contributor: Jamie Richardson

44 Mills Kitchen & Tap, a modern Southern cuisine restaurant in Concord, pays homage to the 44 textile mills that operated in Cabarrus County between 1829 and 2001 while showcasing the best of Southern cooking, cocktails, and craft beer.

Partners Robb Stamey, Mike Davis, and Sydney Cook have crafted a unique menu of elevated cuisine and an inviting modern industrial interior design that captures the essence of upscale comfort with nods to the past.

  • Sydney Cook said, β€œWe wanted to create a comfortable place to hang out that spoke to the history of Cabarrus County. It’s the perfect place for lunch with friends or to celebrate a special occasion.”

Visit the CW website to learn more about this must-visit restaurant and see what Jamie and her husband ordered when they stopped in.

πŸ€— Drop Off a Warm Meal and Get More Than You Expect

Contributor: Jamie Richardson

Cabarrus Meals on Wheels (Cabarrus MOW) is a nonprofit organization that provides a daily hot and nutritious meal to seniors and disabled individuals who are unable to shop for or prepare meals for themselves.

They have become an essential part of the community, providing not only meals but also socialization, wellness checks, and peace of mind for families. All of this allows seniors to live independently longer in their own homes – which is where they really want to be.

  • β€œIt sure is nice to know you have a good meal on the way, especially when you feel so bad you can’t do much for yourself. The volunteers are so nice and friendly. It’s wonderful to see a smiling face. Thanks so much for the food and the great volunteers.” - June A., age 76

The organization was established in 1974 and currently serves over 500 meals per day with the help of weekday volunteers, who are the heart and soul of Cabarrus MOW.

Volunteering to assist with meal delivery is easy and flexible. Volunteers can choose to deliver daily, weekly, or on an as-needed basis that fits their schedule.

Visit the CW website to learn more about volunteering opportunities and how you or your organization can give back to the community and make a difference in the lives of others.
