Gov. Edwards Pushes Abortion..

Join Us at the Capitol May 10th!

Hi Benjamin,

The Louisiana Legislature has convened, and disappointingly, in Gov. John Bel Edwards final address to legislators, he pushed them to open the door for abortion for women who are victims of rape and incest.

Clouded by semantics about faith and empathy, he dehumanized the unborn person, identifying the innocent child only as the "rapist's baby." This is disrespectful to our friends who were conceived in rape. Their dignity is no different from any of us. They are children of God and should be protected!

Shockingly, Gov. Edwards even said "abortion protects crime victims" when in fact abortion aids abusers by allowing them to eliminate the proof of their crime.

We know sexual assault is among the worst crimes against humanity. Victims need to be met with compassion and love. But abortion does not eradicate these horrible acts, and only further trauma for victims while also ending the life of an innocent baby. Learn more about loving both the victim of rape and their precious baby.

Pro-abortion groups want us to be silent in the face of this emotionally-charged issue. But we know that opening the door to abortions in these cases will only lead to further attempts to allow more abortions in the future.

The two bills he supports, HB 346 and HB 549, are slated to be heard in the House Criminal Justice Committee as early as next week. We need to stop them!

ACTION NEEDED!

You can help by contacting members of the House Criminal Justice Committee and urging them to VOTE NO to HB 346, HB 549, and HB 522. HB 522 would effectively gut our pro-life laws by removing all criminal penalties for those performing or selling abortion.

Help Us Advance Adoption in Louisiana!

Tomorrow, the House Ways and Means Committee will consider a very important pro-life adoption bill that will help alleviate the costs for families seeking to adopt a child in Louisiana.

HB 443, the Adoption Tax Credit Act, provides a $5,000 tax credit for a family adopting a child.

In Louisiana, in 2022, there were only 119 infant adoptions and 700 adoptions from foster-care indicating that adoption needs our help. Both of these bills would provide financial support for couples seeking to adopt a child.

Please utilize the button below to contact members of the Ways and Means Committee today to show your love for adoption!

ADVANCE ADOPTION!

Supreme Court and Abortion Pills

โ€Š

Unfortunately, the U.S. Supreme Court has temporarily lifted abortion-pill restrictions for states where the dangerous RU-486 regimen is available. The plaintiffs in the case, Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine and Alliance Defending Freedom, have until noon on Tuesday to file a response.

At the expense of moms and babies, the Food and Drug Administration fast-tracked this drug by ignoring its own rules and science for their own benefit. We are hopeful that they will be held accountable in future legal proceedings. Importantly, in Louisiana, because of our strong pro-life laws, these pills cannot be distributed at all, saving countless lives from abortion!

The Black Advocates for Life team partnered with Pro-Black Pro-Life organization for a Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Tour at Southern Universityโ€™s campus in Baton Rouge.
