Attendees at the 2025 International Pet Appreciation Celebration in Sunnyvale

Dear Duo Duo Pack Member,

We know you feel heartbroken every June when the Yulin Dog Meat “Festival” takes place. There is something all of us can do to help end this nightmare. Join us for two International Pet Appreciation events happening soon in the San Francisco Bay Area.

These heartfelt, community-driven events celebrate our bond with our furry family members while standing up for animals still suffering in the dog and cat meat trade.

Together, we can combat the cruelty of the Yulin Dog Meat “Festival” in June with a powerful global outpouring of love for dogs and cats.

International Pet Appreciation Dog March

Crissy Field, West Bluff Picnic Area, Long Ave., San Francisco

Saturday, June 6, noon - 2:00 pm

Meet at the West Bluff Picnic Area; the march will begin at 12:30 pm.

We will march with our pups along the beach, holding banners and signs, and hand out information about how folks can support Duo Duo Project's work to end the dog and cat meat trade. Dogs and kids are welcome! There is parking nearby, or the picnic area is accessible via MUNI buses 28 and 30.

International Pet Appreciation Celebration

Las Palmas Park, 850 Russet Dr., Sunnyvale

Sunday, June 21, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The celebration will take place at Picnic Areas 2 and 3 near the Dog Park.

Join us for a day of fun and outreach! Celebrate Father's Day with us because dog dads need celebrating, too! The event will feature a DJ, dog training tips, speeches from local community leaders, and free pizza, snacks, and beverages. Duo Duo Project will be engaging community members in meaningful conversations about compassion for animals. Dogs and kids are welcome! There is parking nearby (in the illustrated site map below, it's in the upper left corner).

Please RSVP for both events via email: christy.g@duoduoproject.org. Please also feel free to send me any questions you may have.

Be part of something truly meaningful, join the International Pet Appreciation Movement! Let’s work together to stop the Yulin Dog Meat “Festival” and end the dog and cat meat trade for good.

We appreciate your support,

P.S. If you are unable to join us, another great way to participate in the International Pet Appreciation Movement is to donate to support our spay and neuter programs (to decrease the supply of dogs and cats to the meat trade) and our community outreach and culturally conscious education efforts (to decrease the demand for dog and cat meat) in China.
