☘️ 🌷Welcome Spring!!🌷☘️

Hello Everyone!

We are so happy that Spring is finally here! As the skies stay light longer and the temperatures become more pleasant, we are in full hope of seeing the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. As more and more people get their vaccines, we are looking forward to our world safely opening up. We still must follow the CDC recommendations of masking and practicing social distancing until we are completely out of the woods.

Spring brings us many more opportunities to be outdoors in the fresh air, allowing more opportunities to get more exercise like walking, start thinking about our gardens, and other activities in nature and with family and friends. If you have been distancing from your loved ones during the pandemic, an outdoor outing might be a nice way to start reconnecting if your circumstances allow.

The are lots of celebrations this month and in early April. We want to wish you all the best in welcoming Spring, a Happy St. Patricks Day, a Happy Passover and a Happy Easter!

We want to invite you all to reach out if you'd like information about our programs and services, or just to connect and say hello! Remember that our phone lines are open Monday - Friday from 9 am - 5 pm, please call 207-664-0339. You can also reach out by email at info@bethwrightcancercenter. We are here for you!

We want to let you know that planning has begun on the 21st Annual Beth C. Wright Walk For Life & the 17th Annual Beth C.Wright For Ride For Life and we are hopeful these events will be live outdoors following COVID  guidelines.

We will have more details
in our April newsletter!
🪞 Reflections: Reimagining Beauty 🪞
A Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center Beauty Program for Cancer Patients

We want to let you know about our new beauty program, Reflections: Reimagining Beauty. The program is available to patients actively in treatment that are experiencing appearance-related side effects such as hair-loss and skin sensitivity. Our professional hairstylist/cosmetologist, Rebecca Davis, personally works with participants in regaining confidence about their appearance. She will offer options for head-coverings (wigs, scarves, hats), instructions for skincare, and tips on make-up application. This is available to any cancer patient free of charge.

There are many types of head coverings including wigs of all styles and colors. All wigs are offered for free to the patients upon request. Following CDC protocols for reducing risk of COVID-19 spread, Rebecca is available by appointment to meet with clients at the Center to have the wigs fitted, trimmed, and to receive instructions on washing and care. These one-on-one appointments gives us flexibility to offer clients a more personal, private experience when it is more convenient for them.

The BWC has received a donation of cosmetics from Walgreens in Ellsworth to share with clients during each session. Individuals will be instructed in proper hygiene around products and the application of cosmetics. Sample lotions and cosmetics can be taken home afterward so that they may replicate what they have learned. Private sessions may be requested for this service as well.

If you have more questions or if you would like to make an appointment please call the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center at 664-0339.
