GMR August 2022 Events: BBQ & Antique Car Meet

The registration deadline is fast approaching  - Click this button to register today!

The 2022 GMR Potluck BBQ will take place on Saturday, August 20 from noon to 4.00pm. GMR members Lee and Brenda Roy are generously sharing their home on Goodsell Point in Colchester as the location for the BBQ. The site is approximately 4 miles off from the I-89 Colchester exit. If you want to check out the location the address is 223 Goodsell Point, Colchester, VT. The aerial view will show it as a peninsula within Malletts Bay.

The club will be provide the main course – hamburgers and hot dogs (including vegetarian options). However, as we’ve done for past BBQs we ask that members bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert to share among the attendees as well as beverages for personal consumption. You might also consider bringing a portable chair for your added comfort.

There is no charge for GMR members to attend the BBQ but please pre-register by Thursday, August 18, 2022. This will facilitate menu planning and ensure that we have sufficient food and necessary accompaniments.

The location should prove to be ideal for a BBQ and for some lawn games such as bocce and corn hole. There is also access to a cove for those who might want to take a dip. Should the weather threaten the Roys have deck that can accommodate lots of people, with a terrific view west across Mallets Bay to the Adirondack Mountains.

Rain date - August 27

More GMR 2022 Events

September - The Club would very much like to have a driving tour in south central Vermont. If you are interested in leading or planning a tour please drop a note to ALESSANDRO IUPPA at gmrpca@com.

Late November/Early December - The Club would like to hold an in-person Holiday Reception. If COVID precludes doing so will consider reprising the 2020 Zoom version. If you would like to assist with the party planning please drop a note to gmrpca@gmail.com.

A Great July Driving Tour

A big thank you to Brad Kennison for putting together our July 2022 Tour, it was a rousing success. The 63 mile drive from South Burlington to Middlesex took place after a successful Cars and Coffee Porsche Day at the University Mall. The drive travelled on well paved country roads, twists and turns including a west to east ascent and descent on the App Gap [Rt 17]. After a short leg down Route 100 south we stopped at the Warren Store for a short break and snack. The final leg returned to Waitsfield via the East Warren Road with its spectacular views of Sugarbush, the Green Mountains and Mad River Valley. From there we had a pleasant ride through Moretown to our destination at the Red Hen Baking Company in Middlesex. Click here for a link to the driving route.
