September is national Suicide Prevention Awareness MonthThis month, we stand with families to foster open conversations, reduce stigma, and support the well-being of every child and teen.


In partnership with San Mateo County Behavioral Health & Recovery Services, Office of Diversity and Equity, and Kaiser Permanente Redwood City Medical Center, we offer two special events this September:


  • Ana Paula Garay, LMFT, Lead Mental Health Counselor, Redwood City School District, presents Qué hacer si su hijo(a) habla de suicidio (September 16). This Foro de padres (español) event will be in Spanish.


  • We welcome Rex Huang, MD, Chief of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City, for Breaking the Silence: A Doctor’s Insights on Youth Suicide Awareness & Prevention (September 23). Spanish interpretation will be available.
