The 2024-25 semester of Adult Art Classes is about to start. Our first class kicks off this Saturday, September 14, with an Impressionist Acrylic Landscapes class instructed by artist Brittany Freeman.

Whether you’re looking to hone your skills or explore new creative avenues, this is your chance! Registration is open.

TAKE A LOOK INSIDE THE SC STATE MUSEUM'S ARCHIVES, WHERE A MAJOR CATALOGUING PROJECT IS UNDERWAY

Six years in, the museum has catalogued more than 10,000 items. Nearly 31,000 images have been taken.

It's all part of an ongoing effort to upload images of every item in the museum's collection to its website. And that digitization is part of an even larger effort to modernize the Palmetto State's flagship museum, which hasn't had a major renovation of its four stories of exhibits since...
