Thanks to the generosity of our NCAL community and the compassionate care of Hanover Veterinary Clinic, both Matilda and Santa Fe (pictured) received the dental surgeries they desperately needed.

These two beloved dogs are now healing beautifully in their new homes, pain-free and full of tail wags!

🏡 A Month of Happy Beginnings

With just one day left in the month, we’ve reached our adoption goal with 48 adoptions and 2 cats currently in foster-to-adopt homes! A heartfelt THANK YOU to every adopter who opened their hearts and homes—your love is the reason we do this work. Enjoy some of the happy beginnings below! Just look at those smiling faces!

🐾 Welcoming the Vulnerable

In April alone, we took in 16 owner-surrendered pets from our communities, and just this week, three adorable puppies rescued from a local hoarding situation arrived at NCAL—here are two of them, aren’t they just the cutest? Come and meet them today!

🚚 From Risk to Rescue

We also welcomed 39 at-risk pets transported from overcrowded shelters in the South, giving them a second chance at life here in Vermont. Although we have had many wonderful adoptions this month, a few of our friends are still waiting for YOU! Here are three cats who came up to Vermont ALL the way from Florida - how lucky are they? We are open this week through Friday from 1 - 5 PM and on Saturday from 10 am to 3 PM - come find your best friend!

❤️ Caring for Our Community

Through our spay/neuter and vaccination clinics this month, we supported 52 community pets with essential wellness care. And every month, our Pet Food Assistance Program helps feed around 50 beloved pets, thanks to our partnerships with the Morrisville and Cambridge food shelves.

Altogether, we served over 150 animals this month across all our programs—each one a reminder of the difference we can make when we work together.
