On Wednesday, November 29, we hosted our first Career Connections Day at St. Francis Borgia High School. This event was designed to provide valuable insights and networking opportunities for our students, particularly juniors and seniors. Sixty-five alums returned to their alma mater to share their professional experiences and career journeys with our current students.

These alums represented a diverse range of industries and professions, allowing students to gain exposure to various career paths and helping our students connect with individuals who once sat in the same classrooms and walked the same halls, demonstrating the tangible possibilities that lie ahead after graduation.
Bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world applications allowed our students to explore potential career paths, understand industry trends, and gather advice from those who have successfully navigated the professional world.
In addition to the alumni presentations for juniors and seniors, there was a special etiquette presentation for freshmen and sophomores. This session, given by former Washington Mayor Sandy (Beste) Lucy '74, focused on teaching students the importance of professional manners, communication skills, and overall workplace etiquette, which are skills crucial for success in any career.
Overall, this well-rounded initiative successfully exposed our students to a wide array of career options through alumni interactions. It also provided essential skills training to younger students, setting them on a path toward future success.
