A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
|
Dear Alumni,
We have had an exciting and busy fall on campus. We welcomed our largest freshman class in several years. Tim Buchheit and the theater program performed a freshman/sophomore production of This Is A Test followed by a fantastically funny performance of Neil Simon's Fools in early November. Of the theater productions I've seen since coming to St. Francis Borgia, this one had me laughing the most. The next show is the musical theater production of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown in December.
Athletic competition saw the softball team reach new heights, with first-year head coach Debbie Frank guiding the team to its first Final Four appearance, ultimately finishing second in the state in Class 3. The boys' soccer team got to the district championship game a year after winning the Class 1 state championship, and the football team won its first district championship in 12 years in a hard-fought contest with St. Clair. Finally, the swim team sent a team to state after a successful showing in district competition. Congratulations to the fall teams!
We truly appreciate how many of you come to campus to support our teams and extracurriculars. We had some great crowds for theater, and the district title football game saw the stadium full of fans. We hope to see many of you again at our winter theater productions and basketball, wrestling, and swimming as those competitions get underway.
We are also excited to host Archbishop Rozanski on campus the day before our Thanksgiving break as he celebrates our annual Grandparents Mass with the Borgia family.
Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Matt Schutte
President
