Save the date... for Convention 2021!
Convention planning is well underway, but we wanted to make sure you mark your calendars for 2 specific dates - Saturday, July 10 and Saturday, July 24. On these 2 dates, voting delegates - both active and alum - must be present (virtually) to elect our new Board of Directors and to vote on legislation and other measures. Additional programming will be added and more information regarding registration will be available over the coming months.
Calling all alums!
As Convention approaches, we are once again looking for alum delegates to represent the vote and voice of alum across the organization. Alum delegates will review upcoming legislative proposals, participate in legislative discussions at Convention, and cast their own vote on behalf of alums. This position will require a commitment to (virtually) attend Convention this summer - specifically on Saturday, July 10 and Saturday, July 24. Interested in sharing your voice as an alum delegate? Board of Directors set to be elected at Convention
Are you interested in running for election to our Board of Directors? The Nominating Committee will be posting the Petition for Office soon. Keep an eye out for more information if you’re interested in becoming our next President, VP Communications, VP Programs, VP Lifetime Membership, or VP Finance. Old Dominion Colony to be inducted in April
Our colony will be inducted as the newest chapter of Omega Phi Alpha the weekend of April 17-18! We hope to provide information for actives and alums to participate virtually in this special ceremony if possible. Exact timing of the ceremony is currently pending more direction from the university due to Covid-19 restrictions. More information to come!
Seeking leader stories
Things are happening in Leader Land! We are looking for sisters who have anecdotes or advice to share about “failures in leadership.” As leaders climbing through a crazy world, it's crucial to remember that everyone will fail at something. But what lessons did you learn along the way and how has that experience changed your perspective? Education is one of our core values, and it is the foundation that equips all of our members to act upon our shared values. In the spirit of supporting education, the Omega Phi Alpha Foundation will be accepting applications for the Pamela McCullough McEwen Memorial Scholarship between March 17 – April 15. Founders' Circle Campaign update
The Omega Phi Alpha Foundation is thrilled to share that their Founders’ Circle Campaign is off to an amazing start!

The total raised so far, representing cash gifts, pledges and matching gift commitments is $37,508, which is 75% to the overall goal of $50k! Visit the website to learn more about this campaign and view a list of donors who have contributed to this campaign.
