Matthew 25: Did You Know?

FOOD JUSTICE

"The Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament portray the earth as yielding food in abundance. Agricultural scientists say today that the world can provide enough food for all people, and the tragedy of starvation is needless. But greed, slavery, serfdom, industrial farming practices, and inequitable food distribution have led instead to a more impoverished world. In short, as Hosea put it, "The land mourns . . . even the fish of the sea are perishing" (Hos 4:3). Fortunately, many people in the U.S, and around the world are exploring and teaching what it means to practice our fundamental vocation to produce food with justice and peace." (Source: Patricia K. Tull, 2024-2025 PW Horizons Bible Study Let Justice Roll Down: God's Call to Care for Neighbors and All Creation, p.33)
