Spring Activities to Support Therapy

Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to engage in activities that support therapy goals! Here are a few fun and therapeutic ideas to try at home during Spring Break:

  • Outdoor Obstacle Course: Create a spring-themed obstacle course to improve coordination, strength, and motor planning. Think of jumping over “rainbow” pillows or crawling under tables.
  • Nature Scavenger Hunt: Head outdoors for a spring scavenger hunt to work on visual motor skills and coordination. Look for things like flowers, rocks, or insects.
  • Spring-Themed Art Projects: Create colorful art projects with scissors, glue, and markers to enhance fine motor skills while having fun with spring colors and themes.
  • Rhyming and Storytelling Games: Play spring-themed rhyming or storytelling games to encourage language skills, articulation, and creativity.

We hope these activities help keep the learning going and add some extra fun to your spring break!

March is also…

  • National Nutrition Month - Good nutrition supports brain health, energy levels, and overall well-being, which is essential for both therapy and daily life.

  • World Speech Day (March 16) - A special shoutout to Sunbreak’s incredible Speech-Language Pathologists for all the hard work they do! Thank you for helping our clients communicate, grow, and thrive. Your dedication to improving speech, language, and communication skills is truly appreciated!

Mark your Calendar:

  • March 20: The official start of Spring!
  • March 17: Wear your green for St. Patrick’s Day!
  • March 24-28: Sunbreak is open for Spring Break!
