Dear Erin,

It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Reverend Daniel J. Mahoney, affectionately known as Father Dan, who has peacefully passed away at the age of 94. His departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his legacy of compassion and service will forever resonate within the streets of Boston.

Father Dan was the Pastor at St. Francis de Sales Parish in Charlestown for over five decades, where he was known by all in the community, and referred to by many as a legend!

For close to six decades, Reverend Mahoney served as the Chief Chaplain for the Boston Fire Department, offering unwavering support, a listening ear, and profound spiritual guidance to all those in need. His presence was a source of comfort and strength during challenging times, and his absence will truly be felt.

Let us come together to celebrate the remarkable life of Reverend Daniel J. Mahoney and honor the impact he has had on our community.
