Dr. Issam Eido is an Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Vanderbilt University, specializing in the Qur'an, Hadith, and Sufism. He taught at the University of Damascus and was a visiting professor at the University of Chicago. He also founded the Dalalah Institute in Damascus to promote Islamic and Arabic studies.
