Got older Scouts looking for something fresh and exciting at camp? Next Level Stuff is built just for them—offering high-energy, hands-on activities designed to keep even your most seasoned campers engaged.

From paddleboard yoga and DIY lava lamps to STEM challenges and extreme pioneering, this program blends fun with skill-building in a way that keeps Scouts coming back for more. It’s ideal for those who’ve earned many merit badges and are ready for a new kind of adventure.

Plus, they’ll connect with peers from across the council—and beyond—under the leadership of Eagle Scout Gillian Bird, whose enthusiasm and creativity bring the entire experience to life.

Trailblazer Program: Where young Scouts grow

If you have younger Scouts who are new to Scouts BSA or working toward First Class, the Trailblazers Program at Camp Durant is built to support them every step of the way.

This structured, advancement-focused track helps Scouts develop essential skills like knots, fire-building, map-reading, and hiking — all while building confidence and having fun in a small-group environment tailored to their experience level.

Led by Gabriel Almario, our Council’s OA Chief, and a dedicated team of instructors, Trailblazers ensures meaningful progress toward rank advancement.

Scouts will also earn Swimming and First Aid merit badges during the week — or we’ll substitute others if they’ve already earned those.

By the end of the week, they’ll head home with new skills, new friends, and big progress toward that First Class rank.

If you haven’t met Erin Shiflett yet— trust us, she’s awesome. Erin’s not just leading camp this summer — she’s been breaking barriers in Scouting for years.

She was the first-ever female Aquatics Director at Camp Durant and one of the first Scouts in our Council to earn the Summit Award (that’s the highest you can go in Venturing).

Now she’s back as Camp Director, bringing big energy and new ideas to make camp even more fun, more challenging, and more unforgettable.
