Author and St. B’s Parent Reads to Preschoolers:

The Adventures of Juicy Baby

We’re proud to highlight The Adventures of Juicy Baby, a heartwarming new children’s book by Lindsey Craft-Goins, MBA—a current St. B’s parent recently named one of the 50 most influential women in Microsoft’s fifty-year history and one of Atlanta’s 50 Most Powerful Women by ATL+ Magazine.

Inspired by her family’s journey through loss, healing, and unconditional love, Lindsey’s book offers an uplifting message for families everywhere. The story celebrates the magic in every child, encouraging young readers to embrace their uniqueness and shine bright, while reminding parents and caregivers that love, effort, and guidance are the foundation for raising incredible humans.

As a special treat, Lindsey recently visited and read The Adventures of Juicy Baby to our preschool students.

Holy Week and Easter at St. Benedict's Episcopal Church

Holy Week is the heart of our Christian faith: by his cross and resurrection, Christ has redeemed the world! Each year we live that truth anew in our Holy Week observances. We invite you to make worship a priority this Holy Week; perhaps try a service you’ve never been to before. It will bless you, and deepen your wonder at the glorious mystery of Jesus’s love for you and for the world.

April 17, 2025: Maundy Thursday

7:00 P.M.

Holy Eucharist with foot washing

Prayer Vigil with Altar of Repose overnight

The Triduum– the three days– begins with this service. “On the night before he died for us…” We will offer foot-washing, hear Jesus’s new commandment of love, and witness the stripping and washing of the altar. This is a great, sensory service especially compelling for kids. Stick around after to pray with Jesus present in the sacrament, as he asked his disciples in the garden to “wait with me one hour.” The nave will be open for prayer overnight.

April 18, 2025: Good Friday

12:00 P.M.

Good Friday Liturgy (with Holy Communion from Reserve)

Followed by Stations of the Cross (weather permitting)

At this stark service, in stillness, we hear Jesus’s passion and ponder his agony and love. All who wish may venerate (touch, kiss, pray beside) the cross. After the service, join us to pray as we walk the stations of the cross around campus, hearing the story of Jesus’ passion.

3:30 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.

Sensory Stations of the Cross: for all ages

Stations of the Cross is open to all but especially geared towards kids. Come to the front steps of the church any time between 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm for this self-guided walk through the stations of the cross: with something to touch, taste, or do at each stop along the way to enter the story of Jesus’s death more fully.

7:00 P.M.

Good Friday Liturgy (without Holy Communion)

At this stark evening service, in stillness, we hear Jesus’s passion and ponder his agony and love. All who wish may venerate (touch, kiss, pray beside) the cross.

April 19, 2025: Holy Saturday

11:00 A.M.

Liturgy of the Day, brief 20 minutes service

Amidst all the busy prep of Easter, this service lets us sit, for a moment, in the resounding silence of this day. Hear a 6th-century homily from Melito of Sardis. This service is very brief.

8:00 P.M.

Great Vigil of Easter

“This is the night…” The Easter Vigil is the beating heart of our Christian year: you do not want to miss this service! We begin by lighting the new fire on the front cobblestones and hear the Exsultet: the church’s call to Easter joy! By candlelight we hear the story of God’s saving deeds in history, and with ringing bells, we’ll celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter! All heaven breaks loose tonight. This service is great for kids, a special stay-up-late-night at church (they can even come in pajamas!)

April 20, 2025: Easter Sunday

8:00 A.M.

Holy Eucharist and choir

9:15 A.M.

Easter Egg Hunt (continuous)

10:30 A.M.

Holy Eucharist with Baptism and choir (*with incense)

Christ is risen! Come celebrate the joy and surprise of an empty tomb: both services will have special music, and at 10:30 A.M. we will have Holy Baptisms. Bring flowers cut from your yard to decorate the cross. Between the services, kids hunt for Easter eggs.
