The end of July will mark one year since Windows 10 was released as a free update/upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
Our advice: We don't recommend updating from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The look and operation of Windows 10 is dramatically different and can be confusing for some computer users. Also some programs and devices may no longer work after Windows 10 is installed.
If your computer currently has Windows 8.1 and you are happy with the look and operation of your computer - we don't recommend accepting the free offer to upgrade to Windows 10. Windows 8.1 is scheduled to be supported by Microsoft until 2023. However if you are a person who wants the "latest and greatest" and don't mind troubleshooting potential problems with operating system upgrades, then you can accept the Windows 10 upgrade. If after upgrading you decide that you don't like or want Windows 10, there is a 30-day rollback feature that can revert your computer back to the previous operating system.
