Email account hacking on the rise

In the past few months there has been a rise in the amount of email accounts that have been "hacked" or accessed without the user's permission. The compromised accounts have mainly been AOL and Yahoo/AT&T internet email accounts. The hackers usually use the account to send spam or viruses to the contacts stored in the account.

If you receive an unusual email that has a link or attachment - even if it's from someone you know - do not click on the link or open the attachment.

If your email account has been hacked, your first clue is that you will get a large number of returned or rejected emails from "Mailer Daemon". In this case you should immediately change your email account password, and make sure there have been no changes to the settings in your account. Computer Techs can help

Windows 10 upgrades and downgrades break some important computer scheduled tasks

If you clicked "accept" or "decline" on the Windows 10 upgrade when offered by Microsoft from July 2015-July 2016, we recommend that you contact Computer Techs to schedule a computer checkup to make sure that scheduled tasks are still working on your computer.

The upgrade or downgrade process broke important scheduled tasks such as backup and software updates checks.
