The Blarney.jpg

Dear Saint Patrick Community,

In light of the heartbreaking school shooting at a Catholic school in Minnesota, we ask you to join us in prayer for the victims, their families, and the entire Annunciation Catholic School community. As parents, grandparents, educators, and people of faith, we feel the weight of such tragedies profoundly. They not only break our hearts but also renew our awareness of the sacred responsibility we hold to protect the children entrusted to our care.

Please know that the safety and well-being of your children remain our highest priority at Saint Patrick Catholic School. We are committed to providing a secure, responsive, and faith-centered environment where every student can learn, grow, and thrive with confidence. As part of this ongoing commitment, we want to highlight specific security measures on our campus:

  • Prior to students arriving at Church, an employee does a walk-through of the Church and Church basement.
  • Church doors are locked after school Mass begins.
  • School and Church personnel visually monitor people coming to school Masses.
  • A school employee escorts students down the stairs who need to use the restroom during Mass.
  • A camera system at the school -  exterior entrances as well as hallways.
  • Main school entrance door monitoring system that allows front office personnel to control entry.
  • Exterior school doors have bulletproof film installed on windows.
  • All classroom doors remain locked at all times during the school day, with a quick-removal Door Lock Magnetic Strip for immediate lockdown of the classrooms.
  • School employees are trained for emergency situations and assigned specific duties/tasks outlined in the Emergency Manual.
  • Regular safety drills are conducted throughout the year in collaboration with local emergency responders.

Know that we are here to walk alongside any student or family who may be feeling anxious, unsettled, or simply in need of extra care. Together, may we hold the Annunciation community in prayer and continue working to keep our own school a place of safety and care.

Together in faith and hope,

Fr. David Mulholland and Kate Chambers

COMMUNITY

The Shammy Diaries: Bucket List Wish

Mrs. Suzanne Christnacht, Preschool Teacher; Mrs. Emily Keller, Artist in Residence; and Mrs. Heather Paez, Diverse Learning Strategist, checked off a special item on their summer bucket list—attending Daily Mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Vashon Island.

All are parishioners at Saint Patrick Catholic Church.

What a beautiful way to spend a summer morning together in prayer and community!

Have you celebrated Mass at a local area parish? Tell us about it!

Whether you tackled home projects, staycationed, or traveled over the summer, please email us a photo and a story for the Shammy Diaries.

Bonus if you were with Flat Shammy and sporting your Shamrock spirit wear.

P.S. Email us a photo and story when you attend Mass at another parish on vacation or a day trip; we'll share in our Catholic Churches album.

New Shamrock Spotlight: Sebastian

We are delighted to welcome Sebastian, a 4th grader known as "Bash," to our Shamrock family.

Bash lives on JBLM with his Army family. Washington is the fifth state he has lived in, and Saint Patrick Catholic School is his fourth school.

He loves playing sports—especially baseball—and is an enthusiastic fan of the New York Mets. Bash enjoys reading and building with Legos when he isn't in the field.

He especially cherishes time with his dad and older brother. Together, they can often be found outside in the evenings and on weekends playing wiffle ball, baseball, or football. Bash also enjoys traveling and going on adventures near and far with his family.

He is looking forward to becoming part of the Shamrock community, along with his parents and older brother, a sophomore at Bellarmine Prep.
