Dear Listener,

I am going to make this brief because time is very short as we put the final plans in place to cover the upcoming New York City municipal election that the whole world is watching. Across the Hudson River, in New Jersey and down in Virginia, those states are choosing their Governor at a turning point in American history like no other.

Our coverage will be offered across the country, via the Pacifica Affiliate network.

And with your help, we are going to cover it through the pro-labor, progressive, non-corporatist perspective these times require. But we need your help to accomplish it.

Over the last year and a half, WBAI Pacifica has recommitted itself to public affairs while offering you our unique roster of music, culture, self-help, and current events programming - all without preemption for fundraising.

At the same time, WBAI, along with our partners at the Pacifica Affiliates, have produced essential national programming like the Oct. 18th NO KINGS DAY - six time zones, nine hours, one nation indivisible - a broadcast that was carried across the entire nation.

The sights and sounds from that incredible day were brought to you by our team of regional anchors and dozens of reporters who were all compensated.

WBAI spent around $7,000 to produce that event, much of it via our PayPal account that we need to replenish as soon as possible.

When Mayor Adams was indicted, we were there. When President Trump decided to bomb Iran, we went LIVE.

We will be undertaking a conventional end-of-the-year pledge drive during the upcoming holiday season, but for now, please consider contributing something right now to help us produce the soundtrack of Americans reclaiming their democracy on Nov. 4th.

In solidarity,

Bob Hennelly

WBAI Interim General Manager
