** LIVE ON EPIC **
Welcome Wave 3 Locations!
Today your colleagues at additional RWJBH-Rutgers Medical Group locations and RWJUH New Brunswick, Hamilton, and Rahway (Wave 3) and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) went live on Epic. We are now one step closer to becoming a fully unified system.

  • This unification means:
  • There is a single medication and problem list record for each patient.
  • It also means that you, as an Epic-live provider, may experience some unexpected hiccups over the next few weeks as we stabilize the Epic system once again. Thank you for being so patient.

Features include:
  • Clickable links for the table of contents, helpful links to other websites and PDFs, and even clickable phone numbers.
  • Information from the “Go-Live Help at a Glance, ” Epic Help Line contact information, Provider Learning Home Dashboard navigation instructions, tips, information on accessing heritage data, inpatient provider change readiness topic summaries, and Epic Glossary terms.

Knowledge Refresh: Patient Lists
What are Patient Lists?
  • Patient Lists in Epic provide unique groupings of currently admitted patients for easy access to their medical record.
  • In Epic, Patient Lists are divided between "My List" and "Available Lists."

"My List":
  • The "My Patient" List shows admitted patients that you are assigned to or are following.
  • Patients appear on this list automatically when you're assigned to their treatment team as the admitting, attending, consulting, or primary care physician.
  • Admissions staff might assign you, or you might assign yourself when consulting on a patient.
  • When the consult order is placed to you as the consultant, it automatically puts that patient on your "My List" and the "Practice Group" that you are affiliated with.

Available Lists:
  • "Practice Groups" list patients currently admitted that are assigned to a specific attending provider or that provider is listed on the patient's treatment team.
